OLOT MEATS ( www.olotmeats.com ) is a leading European company providing pig slaughter and processing services. Handling 10,000 units per day, and with the capacity to increase this to 15,000 in the near future, we are one of the top European companies in the sector. We deal in red and white meat, offal and by-products. We also process pork casings for later use in the food market. Our annual turnover is 20 million euros and we have 200 direct employees. We are authorised to export across the EU and to most other countries worldwide.

We constantly strive to comply with all aspects of animal welfare as required by law and in line with our customers’ needs. Our facilities are equipped to meet animal welfare standards.

R&D/INSPECTIONS

We actively participate in several innovation and development projects: European project PASSPORK to develop a system that rapidly detects Salmonella, Listeria, Campylobacter, Yersinia and Escherichia coli. Another initiative is a Salmonella control programme that checks on-farm prevalence levels.

CÀRNIQUES DE JUIÀ, S.A. ( www.cjuia.com ) is a company belonging to the Meat Sector based in the town of Juià in the province of Girona, 50km from the French border and 100km from important maritime shipping docks. It is part of a group of pioneer businesses in this branch which implemented a System of Quality Assurance based on ISO standards, integrating in their System the necessary and sufficient mechanisms for the operation of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).

All of the pigs which are processed here are the result of elaborate genetic and nutritional studies. This way the maximum quality and homogeneity of the meat is ensured.

The Organisation’s sphere of activity is the quartering and storage of meat proceeding from pig carcasses obtained from animals born, fattened and slaughtered in Spain.

We are a meat sector company located in the town of Celrà in Girona province, 50 km from the French border and between 50 and 100 km from maritime loading docks.
The company started out in October 2011 as a cutting plant, established and designed to provide exporting services and which boasts workflows and personnel capable of complying with global sanitation and hygiene standards.
This is based on a quality assurance system that follows ISO standards, integrating a HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
